Most Filipinos think poll automation won't address electoral fraud

Results of the latest IBON nationwide survey showed that majority of Filipinos believe poll automation will not address the problem of alleged electoral fraud.

Of the 85.4% respondents who are aware of the poll automation program, 63% believe that it will not solve fraud in the upcoming elections. The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will implement poll automation nationwide for the first time in the 2010 elections in the aim to minimize electoral fraud.

The share of respondents who think that automation will not address electoral fraud increased from 56.5% in the last survey round in October 2009.

IBON conducted its nationwide survey on January 9-17 among 1,495 respondents. The January 2010 survey used a multi-stage probability sampling scheme and has a margin of error of plus or minus three percent. (end)

Di malulutas ng poll automation ang pandaraya sa eleksyon, tingin ng karamihang Pilipino

Ipinakita ng pinakabagong pambansang sarbey ng IBON na karamihan sa mga Pilipino ay naniniwalang hindi malulutas ng poll automation ang problema ng diumano'y pandaraya sa eleksyon.

Sa 85.4% sumagot sa sarbey na alam na mayroong programang poll automation, 63% ang naniniwalang hindi nito malulutas ang pandaraya sa darating na eleksyon. Ang Commission on Elections (COMELEC) ay magpapatupad ng poll automation sa buong bansa sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon sa eleksyong 2010 sa layuning mapadalang ang pandarayang elektoral.

Tumaas mula 56.5% noong sarbey ng Oktubre 2009 ang bilang ng mga sumagot sa sarbey na naniniwalang hindi matutugunan ng automation ang pandarayang elektoral.

Isinagawa ng IBON ang pambansang sarbey nito noong Enero 9-17 sa 1,495 katao. Gumamit ng multi-stage probability sampling scheme ang sarbey ng Enero 2010 at may margin of error na plus or minus tatlong porsyento.
