The number of Filipinos who believe that corruption and poverty did not lessen in the last three years is increasing, according to results of the latest IBON nationwide survey.<\/p>\n

Asked if they think there was less corruption, 3 out of 5 or 64.9% of the respondents did not agree. This was an increase from last quarter\u2019s survey result of 58.9 percent. Only 23.9% of the respondents said that there was less corruption.<\/p>\n

The respondents were also asked if there was less poverty in the last three years. Only 14.8% said yes, while 8 out of 10 or 77.4% did not agree that poverty decreased.<\/p>\n

Asked how they look at their situation today, 67.0% of respondents, or 7 out of 10 said they see their family as poor.<\/p>\n

The April 2014 nationwide survey was conducted from April 24 to 30 among 1,500 respondents 18 years and above. The survey used a multi-stage probability sampling scheme and has a margin of error of plus or minus three percent. The April 2014 round was a non-commissioned survey conducted across various sectors in 16 regions.<\/p>\n
