Ito ang nagbibigay ng kuryente sa ating mga tahanan, paaralan, ospital, bukirin, pabrika, sistema ng transportasyon, at mga negosyo. Sa ngayon, coal pa rin ang pangunahing pinagmumulan ng kuryente sa bansa. Umaasa ang mga tahanan sa kuryente para sa ilaw, pagluluto, pag-aaral, komunikasyon, at iba pang pang-araw-araw na gawain. Pero hindi dahil mayaman ang bansa sa likas na yaman ay awtomatiko nang nakikinabang ang lahat.
