The NCR minimum wage still falls short of the regional family living wage (FLW) despite the recent wage hike. Across the regions, minimum wages are likewise insufficient compared to the regional FLW. The biggest FLW-nominal wage gap is in BARMM with only Php341 in nominal wages versus a Php1,947 FLW.

NCR has the highest minimum wage in the country – but is still just 50.3% of the family living wage. The gap is even larger on the rest of the country. The worst is on BARMM where the minimum wage is only 17.9% of the family living wage there.
