The NCR minimum wage still falls short of the regional family living wage (FLW) despite the recent wage hike. Across the regions, minimum wages are likewise insufficient compared to the regional FLW. The biggest FLW-nominal wage gap is in BARMM with only Php341 in nominal wages versus a Php1,947 FLW.

The minimum wage falls far behind the family living wage even with the decline in headline inflation for May, especially across regions. Substantial hikes are needed to close this gap so that Filipino workers and their families can meet their basic needs.
