More Filipinos feel that their livelihood worsened compared to the previous quarter, according to results of the latest survey conducted by research group IBON. Moreover, the Eastern Visayas, the hardest hit by supertyphoon Yolanda, is among regions where respondents’ livelihood became worse.
The April 2014 nationwide survey shows that the 84.2% of respondents perceived their livelihood as the same (53.1%) or worse (31.1%). Respondents who said their livelihood became worse increased from 25.5% in January. Only 14.9% said that their livelihood improved.
Notably, the Eastern Visayas was among the regions with the highest number (46.7%) of respondents who said that their livelihood became worse in April.
The latest IBON nationwide survey was conducted from April 24 to 30 among 1,500 respondents 18 years and above. The survey used a multi-stage probability sampling scheme and has a margin of error of plus or minus three percent. The April 2014 round was a non-commissioned survey conducted across various sectors in 16 regions.
