The Philippines was among the first countries to promote the use of inorganic chemicals and input-dependent crop varieties through the Marcos Sr-era Green Revolution. To date, the world’s top-selling agrochemical companies are among the suppliers of chemical and inorganic inputs which the Philippine government continues to usher into domestic farms. This has also partly led to severe land degradation in most of the Philippines’ land area.
